This morning was the kick-off breakfast for the Tour de North Ride. Thanks to everyone who attended and made this event so successful! I am honoured to be involved in such a worthy and fantastic cause.
The first day of riding went great. We even arrived one hour earlier then expected and had to wait for our next event. Had sunny weather the entire way, and am feeling good. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers, and don’t forget to check in for more updates.
Here are some pictures of the kick-off breakfast:

Jameson Signing Helmet

- Jameson Making His Mark
This last week I was humbled by the fact that a little boy Jameson, who won his battle with cancer this past year, would allow me to ride on behalf of him. Jameson Jones, a 5 year old from Prince George, signed my riding helmet and I was honored to receive encouragement for support by this little hero.
From the onset of the ‘Tour de North’ I have desired to ride on behalf of the Northern Children of BC who have battled cancer. Jameson has really encouraged me towards working and raising funds to help children dealing with cancer.
When I complete the ride to Prince Rupert, my plan is to ask all the tour riders to sign my helmet, and give it as a present to Jameson upon returning home.
Please check out this article that the Prince George Citizen had on it’s website: http://www.princegeorgecitizen.com/20090903211421/local/news/boy-inspires-cancer-rider.html

Great news! The story that ran in the Free Press made the “Thumbs Up Story” of the week. Glad to know that the community is so behind such a worthy cause.
Very proud to say as well, that I’ve starting to close in on the 50% mark of my fundraising goal. All thanks to the kind support of you all!
Here’s a copy of the “Thumbs Up” article:
